John Leigh Park, Altrincham

I’ve had my eye on John Leigh Park in Altrincham ever since I read about the competition which was launched a while back to redesign the playground here. It did not disappoint.

The first thing you see from the road is the huge slide and rope bridge, although the design means that from some angles the wooden equipment seems to meld into the trees.

Hidden away on the left hand side of the park are some lovely gardens where we had a quick game od hide and seek, and an under fives playground and aviary. It was lovely to watch CJ play whilst surrounded by mature trees, with the sound of the birds in the background. The wooden animal sculptures were a welcome addition too.

Oh it looks gorgeous and the light in your photos is perfect! How do you do that lovely photo frame effect? It’s fab!

      Thanks Chris!
I framed the large photo on picnik.com (-create-frames-border-then change the inner colour to black to match outer colour.) I did the large collage on photobucket (go through “edit photos” and it pops up). You can do collages on picnik, but only up to 4 photos for free.
It’s quite possible that I’m addicted to picnik…:)
