To market, to market, to buy a fat pie

Snow fell yet again last week, and reports are saying we just had the coldest ever December. However, sub-zero temperatures didn’t stop locals turning up in their droves to the first ever farmer’s market to be held in Whitefield last month. Happily it was cleverley scheduled at one of the seemingly rare times in November and December when there was no snow on the ground.

There was a lovely atmosphere in Hamilton Road Park, we bought a couple of pies and a large cake. I’m not saying markets are bad for your health, there were vegetables on sale too. I just didn’t buy any. Let’s hope there will be other chances to go shopping in the park in 2011.
